Privacy Policy (English)
Last Updated: July 14, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
This website and the educational applications offered under the Joybotz brand are operated by Joybotz Studio ("Joybotz," "we," "our," or "us"). We care about the privacy and safety of all users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, retained, and disclosed through this website and Joybotz mobile applications, and describes the privacy choices available to parents, guardians, and other users.
Features and third-party services may differ between applications. App-store privacy labels, in-app notices, and any app-specific supplemental notice should be read together with this Policy. Where a more specific notice applies, that notice controls for the relevant feature or application.
2. Who This Website Is For
This website is primarily intended for parents, guardians, educators, and other adults who choose educational products for children. The website does not require an account and is not designed to solicit personal information directly from children. We do not knowingly ask children through this website to provide their names, contact details, or other personal information.
3. Information Processed Through This Website
- Information you send to us: If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message content, and any attachments or other information you choose to provide.
- Basic access and security logs: Website hosting, network, or security providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, access time, requested pages, and error logs to deliver the website, maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- Cookies and analytics: The current website code does not use account cookies, advertising cookies, third-party web analytics, or persistent tracking identifiers. If we later introduce non-essential cookies, analytics, or advertising technologies, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required by applicable law.
4. How We Use Information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide and maintain the website and protect the security of our services;
- respond to questions, feedback, and customer-support requests;
- diagnose technical problems and prevent fraud, automated abuse, or other misuse; and
- comply with applicable law or protect the lawful rights and safety of users and Joybotz.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases may include taking steps at your request, our legitimate interests in website security and customer support, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where consent is required.
5. Children's Privacy in Our Apps
Some Joybotz mobile applications are designed for children. We follow data-minimization principles and seek to design our products in accordance with COPPA, applicable GDPR requirements concerning children's data, and relevant platform policies for children and families.
- Our children's apps generally do not require account registration or login and do not ask children for names, email addresses, phone numbers, or home addresses.
- Learning progress, level history, and settings are generally stored locally on the device unless a particular app clearly discloses cloud synchronization or another online feature.
- We do not intentionally collect a child's photos, videos, audio, or precise geolocation unless a specific feature requires it, the collection is clearly disclosed, and appropriate parental authorization is obtained.
- We do not condition a child's participation in an activity on providing more information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.
6. In-App Advertising
Some free Joybotz applications may display advertisements through Google AdMob. For applications directed to children or including children in their audience, we use child-directed treatment and suitable ad-content settings as required, and configure advertising for children and families. We do not intentionally use children's interest profiles to serve personalized or behaviorally targeted advertising.
To deliver ads, measure basic ad performance, limit repetition, maintain security, and prevent fraud, an advertising provider may process limited technical information such as IP address, basic app and device information, ad impressions or interactions, and identifiers permitted by the applicable platform and child-directed settings. Such processing is also governed by the provider's privacy policy and applicable platform rules.
We do not knowingly sell children's personal information or knowingly use children's personal information for cross-app behavioral advertising or profiling.
7. In-App Purchases and Payments
In-app purchases are generally processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play using their accounts, payment systems, and parental controls. Joybotz does not directly receive or store full payment-card details. The platform may provide us with limited transaction information needed to complete or restore a purchase, such as purchase status, product identifier, and transaction receipt.
8. Sharing and Service Providers
We may share information, or allow it to be processed, only as necessary by the following categories of recipients:
- website hosting, content-delivery, network-security, and email service providers;
- mobile-platform and payment providers, such as Apple and Google;
- advertising, crash-diagnostics, or other technical providers actually integrated into a particular app; and
- government authorities or professional advisers where required by law, a valid legal request, or the need to protect safety and lawful rights.
We do not sell personal information collected directly through this website or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. International Transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the country or region where you live. Where required by applicable data-protection law, we rely on an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and require relevant providers to maintain suitable privacy and security safeguards.
10. Data Retention
- Email and support records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the inquiry, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Server and security logs are generally retained only for the period needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal requirements.
- Local learning progress and settings generally remain on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app.
- Retention by third-party providers is governed by their policies and applicable configuration settings.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of personal information; to object to certain processing; to receive a copy of your data; or to withdraw consent. Where the CCPA/CPRA applies, California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive non-discriminatory treatment.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information to us may contact us to request access, deletion, or an end to further collection. We may need to verify the requester's identity and parental or guardian relationship in order to protect the child's privacy.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No Internet transmission or electronic storage method, however, can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The website or our apps may link to app stores, platform services, or other third-party pages. Third-party privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which parents and users should review before using those services.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above, and if a change materially affects user rights or our information practices, we will provide notice through the website, an in-app notice, or another appropriate method.
